"I love Dimension and Texture! I've had compliments on how
easy my patterns are to follow, even for beginners. You can also start with a small project that incorporates the dimensional principles, then move to larger projects."

Jake the Snake!

"Jake the Snake" by Suzanne Cooper

"This piece was named by an Indian jewelry maker who was selling his wares under the portal of the Governor's Palace in Santa Fe. I made Jake several years ago and he remains one of my favorite pieces. Jake is climbing on a piece of carved wood covered with real snake skin."   --Suzanne Cooper

Suzanne Cooper was a happy stained glass artist and author when she met her first seed beads. She took a lesson in peyote stitch and was totally hooked. After publishing 18 books of stained glass designs she sold all her glass and tools and spent the money on beads! Suzanne has published 9 books of bead designs and numerous e-books. Suzanne lives in Santa Fe. NM with her husband Coop and Sam their beloved (and spoiled) Bichon Frise.

"Most of my work is other than stringing but I wanted to show off these beads. The necklace with the three large lampwork beads, the beads are by Andrea Guarino, who lives in
Port Townsend. The turquoise mermaid necklace (2 strands) and the bright purple mermaid with the Hill Tribes silver are both by Mavis Smith. The lavender mermaid and the rose and turquoise one as well as the horsie bead are by LandSarts in Kingston, WA which is not far from here. The green octopus is by a Eugene artist named Jason Solomon of Earthworks Studio."  --Elizabeth Ann Scarborough

Elizabeth Ann Scarborough is a multi-faceted, multi-talented individual who loves cats, beads, reading, music, beads, cats, writing, beads and . . . oh, did I mention cats . . . and, er . . . beads?  She has been beading since she was a girl, learning "at the knees" of her aunt and grandmother, who ran a beading business out of their chicken coop in western Kansas.

Having served a tour as an Army nurse in Viet Nam, living for a number of years in Alaska and becoming a noted author of fantasy novels and short stories, her life experiences are fascinating, diverse and colorful. Her work, both literary and in the beading genre, are as varied, witty and interesting as she is; she even wrote a delightful bead pattern book called Beadtime Stories. Her designs are available at http://www.bead-patterns.com and http://www.sova-enterprises.com as well as through her own site.

Be sure to check out all the different links I have attached to her pictures, and look for her fantasy novels, both solo and with Anne McCaffrey, at your favorite bookstore!
